This week I was on Radio Merseyside with Snelly discussing the Korean War, and how it’s often felt to be a ‘forgotten war’ as far as the British public are concerned. The occasion was the unveiling of a new memorial to Korean War veterans which was unveiled in London after a long campaign by the British Korean War Veterans’ Association, which is now disbanding.
Korea has a local connection; the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment served in the conflict towards the war’s end, and it was one of the last major actions the regiment undertook before it was merged with its Manchester counterpart in the later 1950s.
Feel free to listen in here (26 minutes in).
